Kalyan Jewellers opening showroom in Ayodhaya, outlets opened in Q2 to be made franchisees

Kochi: To coincide with the consecration of Ram Temple, Thrissur-based Kalyan Jewellers will open its 250th outlet in Ayodhya of Utter Pradesh.

The jewellery firm said in a regulatory filing that in the last quarter of the current fiscal, the company is planning to open 30 showrooms in India and the Middle East.

The company’s total number of showrooms as of December 31, 2023, across India and the Middle East stood at 235.

The jewellery group also said that it would like to convert the company-owned showrooms opened last quarter to FOCO (Franchisee Owned Franchisee Operated) in the current quarter.

In 2025, according to the filing, the company will open 80 showrooms, and a signing letter of intent for the planned showrooms was already completed, Of these showrooms, the majority would be FOCO outlets. The company hopes that it would further improve the economics of the company, the filing added.
