RVNL - KRDL JV wins bid for Rs. 123. 36 crore Varkala railway station renovation project

The project is expected to be completed in 30 months..

Kochi: The joint ventrue of Karnataka  Rail Infrastructure Development Company Ltd ( KRDCL) , jointly promoted by Ministry of Raiways  and Karnataka  Government  and Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL), construction arm of Ministry of Railways, has won the bid for major upgradaton/redevelopment works of  Varkala Sivagiri railway station. The 123.36 crore project is expected to be completed in 30 months..  

In the joint venture, KRDCL has share of 51 percent and RVNL has 49 percent.

``The project, aimed at the substantial enhancement and redevelopment of Varkala Sivagiri Railway Station, comes with a total estimated cost of Rs. 123,36,58,386.82. The joint venture's successful bid positions them as the preferred choice for undertaking this crucial infrastructure project, signaling a milestone in the advancement of railway facilities in the region,'' said an official relese. 

This development reflects the expertise and competitive edge of the KRDCL-RVNL joint venture in securing vital railway projects and their commitment to contributing to the improvement of rail infrastructure in the state of Kerala. The successful bid not only underscores their technical capabilities but also highlights their strategic approach to infrastructure development in the region, the relese added. 

The news has pushed up RVNL shares nearly 2 per cent in early trade on Decembver 20. At 9.19 am Rail Vikas Nigam was quoted at Rs.187 or 1.74 per cent on the BSE. 

Last week the RVNL - URC joint venture won the bid for part design and construction of an elevated viaduct, five elevated metro rail stations - shaeed Bagh, Khajarana Chauraha, Bengali Chauraha, Patrakar Colony and Palasaia Chauraha - and ramp for Indore Metor Rail PRoject.
